My! How time flies.
I've just looked at my last post and I can't believe how long it is since I wrote something....Many fellow bloggers have been in touch to enquire of my well being and I am so touched by their kindness and warm thoughts.
I have spent the last year by visiting three different hospital out patients departments to be prodded, stretched, scanned, x-rayed and operated on, for four, skin biopsies.
Only to be told that, the Rheumatoid Arthritis is in remission, whoopee whoo...good news!
Swiftly to be followed with the news that I have severe Osteo Arthritis in my hands and feet...Hmm! though Di, 'I can live with that'.
Then came the killer blow...several discs in the base of my spine are crushed, thus causing severe pain in my back and down my right leg.
Every cloud has a silver lining....I was referred to the 'Pain Clinic', for advice on my medication. So now, I am a registerd 'Junkie', taking Morphine, Pregablin and several other drugs to control the skin disorders etc.
I thought, I would be able to have an operation on my spine, but apparalently it is too dangerous, ie total paralysis. I am still unable to walk very far with out the 'blessed back' seizing up, forcing me to retreat to the chair again, so frustrating but c'est la vie.
So, here I am dear readers, still stuck in 'the chairs' (see previous post), and not able to drive my lovely Honda CRV, pick up my beloved Grandchildren, tend to my garden etc!
But, hey! another 'silver lining! I have got my kind and caring husband, three marvellous daughters, four fab granchildren and a lovely comfy home. Oh, and not forgetting my lovely cuddly cat, Chloe!
What more could a girl want?
I am truly blessed.
I promise, this is the last of the 'health reports', I shall go back to writing little humorous anecdotes to hopefully amuse and entertain you...promise!

Dear Cherie, I am so pleased to hear from you again, after all this time, and thank you for your kind words. The pain is, sort of, under control re medication, which annoyingly, makes me often quite drowsy. This is my own elected reason, for not driving at present.
ReplyDeleteI am blessed with my loving family, for which I shall be eternally grateful.
I have enjoyed reading your site today, the pictures are wonderful.

Good to hear from you again and I do look forward to hearing your liverpool reminisces and your views on the world we live in.We havn't been getting over to eat in Liverpool much lately but I am a regular in Thornton hough village hall if you are ever visiting your old neighbourhood.
ReplyDeleteHi Thud, I'm so pleased to hear from you, what is there in Thornton Hough Village Hall? I see that they do 'delicious lunches', or have you joined the WI to make jam and straw dollies?

I'm new to your site. I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles, but thankful that the rheumatoid arthritis is in remission. These kinds of things can really get one down. I am thankful that you are seeing the silver lining.
ReplyDeleteTake care. I'll be back to visit.
Hello RET and welcome to my site.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words too!
I've been over to your blog site and, oh boy, what a read! I seem to have a lot blogging chums who are teachers or retired teachers.
Anyway, I was so moved by your writings, I shall be back later to read more....Thank you for your interest in my blog site and I hope, if you have time, scroll back a bit and you will find my life isn't all about health issues.
There is a lot of empathy between us, so again, welcome to the world of Trubes!

Good to hear from you again Di but so sorry to hear about the arthritis. Health can be a real bummer can't it? Take care xx
ReplyDeleteHello FP, lovely to hear from you too, I really think I've left it too long in blogging, I used to be able to write so freely and easily, but with all the health issues embroiling me, I sort of gave up. After reading your blog it has encouraged me to get going again, Despite all, I try to keep a cheery demeanor, although I don't get out much, there is plenty going on around me, with my family etc to keep me occupied!
ReplyDeleteDi,xx
God. That sounds awful, Trubes.
ReplyDeleteBless you
xx
Hello Electro, I can't say how pleased I am to hear from you...My health is a'Bummer', as Flowerpot said, but as I've said, Ihave my 'silver linings'..ie Ian, daughters, sons-in-law, and four bouncing grandchildren. Just one chocolately kiss from any one of them is enough to make my day, (grandchildren that is)!
ReplyDeleteSo life ain't to bad. Now that the pain is more or under control, I can do most things, from my various perches I have around the, just, when necessary, giving orders to my insubordinates...Ha ha!
Seriously, Kevin, i am so lucky to have such a kind and supportive family,
Much love Di.xxx

Hi Vinogirl, good to hear from you again. yes, the weather was glorious right through April, but now it's very unsetted...we have high winds blowing over Liverpool bay, a bit scary.
ReplyDeleteI hope the sun is shining again in 'Vinoland'!
Big Bro' will be with you soon, so i hope you have lots of fun,
Bye for now,

Hi. I have just popped over from Southhamsdarling, as you were so sweet to pay me a visit today. I like the 'glamourous granny' comment on your Blog! Yep, that's me as well then!! LOL! Gosh, you have quite a lot going on one way or another with your health there. I had two big operations on my back a few years back (the first one didn't work!). The prognosis was a wheelchair if I didn't have the op, although it was pretty grim when they were telling me what could happen, just before I went down for the op!!! I love it that you are still keeping cheerful and you are right, we are very blessed with our family, aren't we?
ReplyDeleteDear Thisisme, lovely to hear from you,..You are so right about family stuff, I just wish I was more mobile. It is so frustrating, I used to be play Badmington for the Cheshire league!
ReplyDeletelove Di..xxx
So good to see you back in the action Trubidoos!
ReplyDeleteWe've missed your banter, and fully expect much more from now on!
Glad the bits are being mended OK too!
Hello Scrobs, good to hear from you again, yes indeed. ol' Trubie Do' is up and running...promise of no more health grumbles!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well at the Turrets or is it the Towers? I forget.
