Footprints.

This poem is dedicated to Leslie and DL who are undergoing a trying time.

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:
He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints.

He noticed that it also happened at the very lowest and saddest
times in his life
.
This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about about it.

"LORD", you said that once I decide to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me".

The LORD, replied, "My precious, precious, child, I love you, and would never leave you. During your times times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints,it was then that I carried you".

This is one of my favourite writings, dear Leslie and Lorne.
I hope you both derive some comfort and strength from it.

  2. Thank you so much, Di! I love that poem and I had it in mind when I was writing that post. It's so important to keep your eyes on the Lord and to be positive in your attitudes. And I love you for dedicating this to us. Thank you! Sending hugs through the mass of ashes! lol

  4. Trubes, I'm clearly an outsider here, but this is a similar sort of piece, which can also bring a bit of comfort.

    Hope it helps eh?

  5. Hello CherryPie;
Lovely to hear from you again.
I, like you, am thinking about Leslie and Lorne. They must be feeling pretty low at present,
but, as Leslie intimated, when she first wrote about Lorne's Bowel Cancer, that it has a high, recovery, success rate of complete cure, particularly when caught early.
Lets hope that is the case for Lorne.

  6. Leslie:
The ashes are clearing and the flight ban is lifted, Hurrah!
Typically, the Politicians are fighting over whether or not the ban should have been implemated in the first place.
Still thinking of you and Lorne,
    Love Di.xx

  7. Liz,
Thanks, it's the least we can do,
to think of them and pray for a good outcome.

  8. Scrobs:
Thanks for that, touching and true!
Lorne had been diagnosed with Bowel Cancer and is due to have an operation, in about a week.

So, Dear Scrobs, lots of positve thoughs and prayers are required.

My dear Mama had a similar operation at the age of 60 and managed to reach the ripe old age of 84 years.

  9. Hello EK,
Thanks for your kind wishes, I've
just found out that Lorne has come out of his operation and all is looking good.
He has had prayers and good wishes from all over the world.
I'm a great believer in the power of positive thought.
